Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage
Mana Lomi® massage is a component of the holistic health system passed down from a lineage of healers in Hawaii that is used to prevent and resolve injuries, ease emotional stress, and induce deep relaxation. The pressure evolves from light to deep, following the rhythm of your breath. The method uses long, smooth and rhythmic forearm strokes, passive stretching, and deep sustained compression to give the body time to release.
This method, also known as Cranial Therapy or Cranial Sacral, connects to the source of health functioning within the client's body to facilitate greater health throughout their entire being. Cranial Therapy is for all ages, from birth throughout life. This method may support you in improving health of all systems of the body. It is effective at treating physical pain, muscular tension, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic fatigue, and migraines.
Note: Please wear comfortable clothing for this session.
This method combines deep tissue massage with cranial therapy. The practitioner connects with the intelligence within the body and follows it, allowing the massage to be guided by the client's own innate healing abilities. We modify pressure, direction of movement and surface area of contact while listening to the energetic changes that occur throughout the body. By focusing on one or two areas per session, this approach facilitates the unwinding of long held patterns of tension and stress.

ABOUT ANGIE RINGWALD
After growing up in the Midwest and completing a degree in Business Administration, Angie moved to Maui, HI. Living in the islands woke up a burning desire to share wellness with others, beginning with a massage certification in 2006 from the Maui Academy of Healing Arts, a program that emphasizes both energetic and anatomically specific techniques. She is passionate about growth. This is seen through her continual participation in classes and workshops to expand her knowledge of anatomy and wellness practices.
Angie’s approach to massage and bodywork is both therapeutic and nurturing. She listens intently to physical and energetic changes taking place in your body during the session. This allows her to connect deeply to your nervous system, muscles, tendons, fascia, and bones. She stays present to let your body guide the session, helping to elicit healing and return to equilibrium.
For the past fifteen years, Angie has practiced a blend of traditional Hatha, Anusara, and Vinyasa yoga. Her current practice is influenced by Inner Body yoga. This approach was developed by Donald Moyer, a student of Iyengar. It helps you deepen your felt sense of the layers of the body to find greater health in the postures. Angie completed her 200 hour certification under the guidance of Michele Loew at The Yoga Space in Portland, OR. She offers private yoga, community classes at the Yoga Shala of Portland, and yoga in the workplace.
