Abigail practices Western Energetic Herbalism. Through one-on-one consultations, she works collaboratively with clients to uncover the patterns that give rise to illness and address the root causes of imbalance. With the help of some powerful herbal allies, she works with her clients to realize greater physical, mental and emotional health.
As a practitioner of holistic herbalism, Abigail treats the whole person rather than just a disease or its symptoms.* Following an in-depth intake and interview process, Abigail will make recommendations for dietary and lifestyle shifts, and will craft an individualized herbal formula to support the healing process and bring the body into a state of greater health and vitality.
Abigail has been making herbal medicine for over 10 years. She runs a small, Portland-based herbal medicine company called Spring Creek Herbs; the plants that she uses in her practice have been organically grown or wild harvested in a sustainable, ethical and respectful way from the forests, meadows and mountainsides of the Pacific Northwest. As a medicine maker, Abigail works with both the medicinal constituents and the energetics of the plants. She creates customized herbal formulas based on her clients’ unique constitution, energetics, health issues and goals.
Having a connection with the natural world is profoundly healing, and plants provide us with an incredible resource to aid us on our path toward health. Abigail is inspired by Vitalism and folk herbalism traditions in which health care is practiced in a way that respects the body’s inherent healing capacities, is connected to place, and recognizes each person’s unique history and constitution.
Abigail has earned certificates in Clinical Herbalism from the Chestnut School of Herbalism in Asheville, North Carolina, the Columbines School of Botanical Studies in Eugene, Oregon, and the School of Traditional Western Herbalism in Portland, Oregon. She loves spending time in the mountains of Cascadia and is passionate about bringing the power of the wild into spaces for healing in the city.
Herbalism is beneficial for anyone working toward a more balanced health picture, and can be a particularly effective approach for those who are dealing with chronic or long-term physical or emotional health issues.
Abigail specializes in working with people who are experiencing a confluence of physical and emotional symptoms. Some of the conditions she has worked with successfully include:
Asthma and Respiratory health
Urinary tract health
An initial consultation lasts one hour and costs $60.
Herbal formulas cost an additional $10-12 per ounce of tincture.
Follow-up appointments are $45.
As a Community Herbalist, Abigail strives to provide affordable, accessible and effective care to those who need it, regardless of economic status. If cost is a barrier to you, please inquire about sliding scale rates.
